How can medical intermediates be desalted?


Electrodialysis technology is a kind of membrane separation technology, electrodialysis principle refers to under the action of DC electric field, with potential difference as the driving force, using the selective permeability of ion-exchange membrane to separate the electrolyte from the solution, so as to achieve the purpose of desalination, concentration, refining or purification of the solution. Can electrodialysis also be used to desalinate medical intermediates?

Pharmaceutical intermediates are some chemical raw materials or chemical products used in the process of drug synthesis. Such chemical products can be produced in ordinary chemical plants without the production license of drugs. As long as they reach some levels, they can be used in the synthesis of drugs. When electrodialysis is used for the desalination of intermediate medicine, the parameters of the original medical intermediate urine are as follows:

The results showed that the desalting rate of medical intermediates by electrodialysis could reach 97.7% under the premise of economic feasibility. This fully shows that electrodialysis technology has incomparable advantages in the treatment of medical intermediates
